Fake Juicy Couture

  In this guide we have illustrated some details about Juicy that will help you weed out the fakes. This is in no way a conclusive or complete guide to every detail about Juicy, but it has enough information to highly increase you chances of spotting the fake Juicy handbags. Combining some of these brand specific points with the universal tells we have listed should help keep you insulated from many of the fake Juicy handbags in the open market.
Note: Many of the images we show to highlight a specific tell, also have another tell within the same photo. When this occurs we will try to point out the secondary tell also. However, on occasion we may miss some of the secondary tells in the photos. So we encourage you the reader to inspect the images for other tells to help increase your spotting skills.

1. The Leather: Juicy leather bags are all 100% cowhide leather. They are soft and strong and durable at the same time. Velour and terry bags (wallets etc.) also have some leather trimmings or handles and they are also 100% cowhide leather. Fakes have cheap plastic trimming which is so bad in quality that you can even peel it off.

Fake Juicy leather: Leather is lighter and shiny with less texture.











Note: notice the "stitches per inch" in the above two images. This is a universal tell for spotting any fake handbag. Notice how many more stitches there are per inch in the real Juicy Couture vs. the fake Juicy handbag. You can see clearly the smaller, tighter stitching on the real Juicy handbag.

Note: Also notice the gold metal accents in the real vs. fake images above. The authentic Juicy Couture gold rings in the first image (above) have an aged/copper look to the finish, whereas the gold rings in the fake image look shiny and cheap. This is most evident when comparing the gold metal accents on the left side in both images together. (More on this topic later.)

2. Dustbags: Only leather bags come with a dustbag. Terry and velour bags don’t come with the dustbag. Currently these dust bags come in soft pink and baby blue and medium and XL sizes. The Juicy "fairytale" will be written on it in dark brown. The Dustbag is made from 100% cotton in China.

"J" Logo: At the end of the strings of the dustbag is a leather heart tag with a "J" in the middle. The "J" must look like its stitched not just stamped or embossed. This will make the ‘J’ outline look clear. Older dust bags have these leather accents in shocking pink (even the color of the font of the Juicy fairytale. The blue dustbag has the Juicy "fairytale" in dark grey font.

3. Label/Serial number: The inner label is in neon pink with "Love G&P" (Love P&G for older models). There is always a Serial number on a sticker which is located in the inner label of the bag. This also applies to smaller accessories like a Juicy wallet or laptop bag. Every serial number is unique.

4. Zippers: The zippers all have YKK etched on the side. This is hard to spot but you only have to look very closely. Also applies to all newer (all above year 2007) zippers on wallets/other accessories and even the hoodies.
Inside zipper compartments: These will be adorned with tiny "J" zipper pulls in gold-tone hardware. Newer ones have the YKK stamped in the inner gold "J" zipper inside the bag too. An image of a YKK zipper is available in our Spot Fake Coach guide

5. Hardware: Juicy bags always come with silver matte-metal finishing hardware or a nice gold-tone hardware.
Hardware on Juicy Couture handbags will not be:
1. Light weight
2. Shiny gold

Authentic hardware for your Juicy Couture bag should be:
1. Heavy
2. Gold/Copper in color
3. Silver matte
4. Engraved with the words "Juicy"

[4/11/10] Juicy "Ring Bling" Handbags: These Juicy bags are all over eBay, and the majority of them are phony, so watch out.

Some "Ring Bling" tips to look for:


• The giant engagement ring on the bag should be attached by a leather loop only.
• There will not be a flimsy metal circle connecting to the leather loop.
• Concerning the velvet bow: The bow ends should have metal accent tips that should be stamped/etched with Juicy crowns.
• The metal accent tips/stoppers should be solid. Fake bags may have hollow metal accent/stopper tips.

6. Juicy Tags: Authentic Juicy comes with two tags, the brand name tag, and the model description tag (in pink). Smaller accessories comes with similar brand tags, only a mini version. On the upper left side of the tag is the bag model number. The upper right side is the code number for the colors. Older tags are in gold hard and thick cardboard with a very solid matte gold color, fakes make these in shiny cardboard and it's thinner Velour bags are made of 80% Cotton and 20% Polyester (same as the famous velour tracksuits)

7. Lining: The inside lining of a Juicy bag is always 100% cotton. If it feels like anything else besides cotton it is a fake. The linings come in a print usually with crowns.

8. Pouches: Inside Juicy’s signature "fluff" bags and bowler bags (and a few other bigger bags) will have small pouches.
They will say:
1. "SHOP!"
2. "JUICY Kiss!!" which is a lipstick pouch.
3. "Hello??" which is a pouch to put your cell-phone in. All are usually leather and gold in color.

9. Mirror: These bags also will have a mirror attached to it in a heart shape. The strap is leather, so is the mirror. The strap should say “I am the fairest.” The J stamped on the heart should be clear and stitched at the outline clearly. Fakes usually have this stamped poorly.

Note: The embossed lettering will be slightly raised, not printed. You should be able to feel the texture of the letttering.






10. Packaging: Juicy never wraps their items in plastic. The handles dont come wrapped in it either. If you get one thats a fresh shipment it should have tissue paper taped on all the zippers to prevent scratching. There is always Juicy tissue paper stuffed inside every pocket as well as the inside of the bag to retain its shape.
