Label: The label is a combination of metal and leather, with a silver or gold logo font and a lilac color for background. Often times the counterfeiters get this detail wrong, and have a color close to the Jimmy Choo lilac, but slightly off by a shade (as demonstrated later). [1.1] Two part label: Leather backing, with mounted metal within the leather. The metal mounted must always be centered within the leather backing, with the same distance between the metal and the leather edge on all four sides. This is a common signature with most designer handbag labels. Often times, the fake labels will have all the correct details, but they will lack in quality, and one of the most common quality errors is uneven label stamps and impressions. [For more examples of counterfeit detection by means of geometrical symmetry go here, here or here]. [1.2] The font: This is also a key factor in determining a fake Jimmy Choo. [Below is an example of just the font itself, not the logo within a handbag label]. The purpose of the image below is to showcase the unique features of a Jimmy Choo font. The handbag label will be shown further below. Font: The most notable feature of the Jimmy Choo font pertains to the H. Specifically the cross connector in the H that has a unique feature singular to Jimmy Choo. The cross bar in the H sits about 75% of the way up the H, instead of being exactly in the center of the letter (50% of the way up). Below is a diagram of the Jimmy CHoo H Font feature: [Note] The font displayed is not the authentic Jimmy Choo font, the purpose of the diagram is just to illistrate the position of the cross bar on the H. Below is an incorrect font, as seen on many Jimmy Choo counterfeits: Below is an image of a real vs. fake Jimmy Choo label: Generally the Jimmy Choo logo is presented in silver or gold on the metal mount with a specific lilac color. BeautifulBasics (ebay) [Note] Notice the thickness of the "MM", and the "C", in the fake Jimmy Choo label font. Both letters M have an almost equal thickness on both legs of the letter. (This counterfeit signature is similar to that of Gucci). Now compare that to the real Jimmy Choo font, where the right most leg of the letter M is clearly thicker, and the left most leg of the M is much thinner. This is consitant with the picture earlier of the authentic Jimmy Choo font. However, the fake font is clearly incorrect, (as in the case with many of the Coach [A] fonts). Concerning the J.Choo font, same goes for the C and the J, both are too thick in the phony Jimmy Choo logo, when compared to the real logo. These are very subtle tells but with some inspection and comparison they can be spotted. Also, notice the [O] fonts in the real Jimmy Choo, they have an almost slant to them and are slightly wider that the [O] fonts in the fake label. Almost like they have been tapped down from the top, squishing them down and creating a wider O. Sometimes the reverse is the case in certain counterfeit Louis Vuitton fonts. Whereas the fake appears slightly dented. The J.Choo fake in this case does not have have this slant. Which in this case is actually incorrect, due to the designed slant of authentic J.Choo [O] fonts. [The Y on an authentic Jimmy Choo font will have the left most prong thicker than the right prong. The fake (above) has this detail correct for the most part, although it is a little sloppy]. Note: And it is in these ultra subtle tells the story is told. The better quality the fake is, the more you must rely on the subtle tells. Below is another fake Jimmy Choo label: [Note] Also note the signature Jimmy Choo high crossing "H". The fake (below) has got this correct for the most part, (the cross is still a little high). [Note:] This label (above) also has a problem with the legs of the M, the C and the letters O in Choo. Also, the lilac color is slightly off by a shade, and the made in Italy stamp impression below the metal label is also slightly crooked, trailing off on a downward slope towards the end of the word "Italy". Also, the Y in the fake does not have the correct thicker left prong, and thinner right prong as in an authentic Jimmy Choo font. The fake Jimmy Choo font showcases both prongs incorrectly having an equal width. 2. Hardware: Hardware should have the Jimmy Choo logo stamped on following the same font standards as the label. The "H" should have the signature Jimm Choo high cross and quality, clear impressions. Below is an example of fake Jimmy Choo hardware: [Note] The "H" on the fake Jimmy Choo gold hardware (above) has a traditional cross in the middle of the letter, not the signature Jimmy Choo high cross as seen in the authentic logo. Also, the letters M in Jimmy are incorrect. An authentic Jimmy Choo font will showcase the right leg of the M as thicker than the left leg of the M. In this fake example, both the legs of the letters M are the same width [the same with the Y prongs] (more on this further below). Below are image of real vs. fake Jimmy Choo snaps: BeautifulBasics (ebay) Starting with the two "O's" in Choo: Under close inspection, the lopsidedness of the phony "O’s" becomes more evident. On the real Jimmy Choo snap, the O's are symmetric, however on the fake Jimmy Choo snap, the O’s are not the same size. They have different shapes, the lower right most O looks like is has a dent in it. This is something that can be spotted regardless of previous Jimmy Choo knowledge. And the spacing circles, (the circles between the Jimmy and the Choo on both sides of the snap), are also lopsided on the fake snap. The left most spacing circle on the phony side looks like it also has a dent in it, and a deeper, darker impression on one side of the O, and on the other side it looks lighter and more superficial. However, on the authentic Jimmy Choo side, the spacing circles are once again perfectly symmetrical. Other notable inconstancies : This concerns the overall font impression in general. If you look at the fake Jimmy Choo side, the letters all appear to have darker and lighter areas within each letter, but on the real side, the letters all appear to have a consistent color shade. This is due to an uneven stamping of the fake buttons. The darker areas represent the areas where the stamping method used dug deeper into the metal, and the lighter areas represent areas that have been scraped down superficially. This is always the case when a counterfeiter manufactures handbags in a speedy manner. Everything is rushed, sewn and pressed quickly, and thus leaving behind plenty of evidence for the buyer to examine. The sloppy stamping is something that can be applied universally, to all top designer brands. Note: The real Jimmy Choo button has a consistent coloring shade, evidence of a quality stamping job. Ramona, Riki, Etc. front closure: [Note] Same signature Jimmy choo high crossed "H". Also, the screws on the back of the hardware will always be flat head (-) never phillips-head screws (+). BeautifulBasics (ebay) Below is an image of a fake Jimmy Choo closure piece: [Note] Again notice the center crossed "H". Also, notice the latch in the center of the image, there is clear space between the center block and the outer latch revealing part of the pin, where on the real Jimmy Choo image above, there is no space between the center block and the latch. This means that the fake hardware closure would "rattle", and the authentic Jimmy Choo closure would slide smoothly. Plus the "Jimmy Choo" is not centered perfectly between the rivets like in the above image, it is stamped slightly lower than center. BeautifulBasics (ebay) Zipper: When an authentic Jimmy Choo zipper is closed, the zipper teeth will form a diamond/triangle pattern in the middle of the zipper. Also, the zipper pull will be engraved with "Jimmy Choo". The same high "H" cross standards apply. Below is an image of an authentic zipper: [Note] Notice the diamond triangular pattern in the center of the zipper teeth: BeautifulBasics (ebay) Below is an image of a fake Jimmy Choo zipper: [Note] Notice the center of the zipper teeth, there is no diamond pattern: BeautifulBasics (ebay) trending(ebay) Jimmy Choo Handbags Jimmy Choo New Bags Jimmy Choo Pre-Owned Bags Jimmy Choo by Price Jimmy Choo Starting Under $100 Jimmy Choo $101-200 Jimmy Choo $201-300 Jimmy Choo $301-400 Jimmy Choo $401-500 Jimmy Choo $501-600 Jimmy Choo $601-700 Jimmy Choo $701-800 Jimmy Choo $801-900 Jimmy Choo $901-1000 Jimmy Choo $1001-2000 Jimmy Choo $2001-10,000 3. Dustbag: Authentic Jimmy Choo dustbag should read, "JIMMY CHOO" and "LONDON" underneath. The font should be embossed on the dust bag and should be grey colored. The dustbag itself should be is lilac with a faint drawstring pull in lilac and roughly 3/4' inch thick. Some further notes:
