Zippers: First off, if the zipper is blank it is a counterfeit Marc Jacobs. All Marc Jacobs handbags have either RIRI or Lampo. Marc Jacobs uses riri zippers on their classic bags. Riri zippers are the most common on the Marc Jacobs handbag lines. REAL RiRi zippers should have a rounded head, and should not come to a "point.” Some counterfeiters have fake Riri or Lampo zippers, but there are usually specific, distinguishable qualities between the real and fake Riri and Lampo zippers. Tags and Serial Numbers: Older Marc Jacobs purses do not always have embossed serial numbers. [cite needed]. Marc Jacobs serial numbers are found in some of the inner zipped pocket in the corner seam. They are black or white with black letters with the seasons, and model numbers. Letter and two numbers [season and year], followed by three or four numbers [model/style]
[Note] Not all bags have serial numbers. The older ones typically do not nor do many of the signature Marc Jacobs bags like the MP, Stella, Sophia. [Note] Marc Jacobs items never have metal or leather tag hanging off it. Most knock off Marc Jacobs (and many other counterfeit designer handbags) use fake tags that dangle off the bag. Some may be metal and say “Marc Jacobs,” others are phony leather tags that say “Genuine leather.” Also, the interior labels on the bags are never leather. They are metal. [pic needed].
