1.Prada logo: Study the prada name on the emblem. Specifically the "R" in Prada. If the right leg on the "R" is strait it is a counterfeit handbag. The R in Prada should have a slight crescent curve. Below is an image of the authentic version of the Prada logo. [Note] The "R" has a distinct curve. This is Prada's signature logo. 
Below is an image of a fake Prada logo: [Note] The strait leg of the "R" is clear. And if you compare the other letters in the fake font (below), to the real font (above), you will see that there are also many differences. However, the reason why we are focusing specifically on the "R" is because it is a common error made by counterfeiters. A tell that when spotted becomes powerful evidence that the bag is a fake. It should be the first thing you look for when attempting to spot a fake Prada. And as we discuss below, the "R" should be scrutinized on every spot Prada puts its logo. 
2. Logo background: The background of the Parda plate should be the same color as the bag. Also, the tag inside an authentic bag will say "PRADA MADE IN ITALY." This will either be embossed directly on the leather interior in a visible location, or printed on the interior plaque under the Prada name. Interior plaques on older Prada bags are almost square with "Prada Milano Made in Italy" on 3 separate lines while newer models are on smaller, more rectangular plates with "Prada Made In Italy" on two lines. Newer high-end models may have the "Prada Made in Italy" either embossed on a leather patch that is stitched to the interior. 3. Hardware: The metal accents on the bag and the buttons should be engraved with Prada. Hardware used in Prada products comes in three colours:
4. Lining: The lining should say Prada horizontally, a pattern that will cover the interior lining of the bag. Prada's signature lining is used in most of their bags. [Note] Fake bags may have something similiar but the quality will be comprimised. Also scrutinize the "R" on the Prada lining for the signature curve. 5. Dustbag: Prada bags are always packaged in a white dustbag, with a simple black Prada logo on it (also check the dustbag logo for the curved "R"). The dustbag may vary in design depending on the style, but it will always be white with one clean black Prada logo imprinted on the front. 6. Authenticity cards: All Prada bags come with a set of authenticity cards sealed inside a small black envelope. A control number inside the bag should match the number on the authenticity cards. [Note] Any discrepancies in the control number and the number on the authenticity card will indicate that the bag is a fake. More Prada notes:
