1. Tags:
An authentic Versace handbag will have the official Versace tag. The official Versace
tag is made of smooth black heavy-stock material (ultra fine cardboard). If you run your
finger over the tag you will feel the texture of the logo.
The Versace logo is not simply printed on. The string which attaches
the tag onto the purse should also be black and the plastic tag that attaches
the string to the purse should be black too with the word Versace written on it. When
the tag is opened, you'll see a white piece of paper with black wording which is your
Certificate of Authenticity.

2. Details: Versace often stamps their metal accents with the Versace logo.
Check the buttons/snaps/accents for the logo stamps.

Note: If you missed our Spot Fake Handbags tutorial,
we talked about the tags and stickers
on authentic packaging, and how often times tags and stickers can act like a passport,
highlighting the journey the handbag has taken before it winds up on your shoulder.
On the images below, the original sticker
from a factory in Italy is pictured (evidenced by the Italian wording), and on
the other side of the box shows further evidence of its second
stop-an outlet in the Untied States. Many times authentic bags that are being sold at good discounts will have
this evidence trail. Factory, retail venue, outlet store, bulk distributer, and finally online retailer, who inturn may
list the bag on eBay where a savy shopper will discover it and purchase it at a great price.
Note: We explain how to find these bargains in our tutorial Online Auction
Tips.

Versace box, and the second image below is the outlet sticker from the United States that is in the
left corner of the Versace box:
Note: The Italian wording can be seen above and underneath the covering.
Also, note the model numbers...
- Note both number/letter sequences are the same.

Note: This fake is easy to spot because the
packaging is incorrect. Versace does not wrap the handles of their handbags in plastic as
seen in this image. This is also a good universal tell, because most top designers will
never wrap their handbag parts in plastic.
Note: An exception to this rule pretains to the metal accents on a designer bag. Many designers will use plastic film
(like on the display face of a cell phone) to protect the
metal accent pieces on the outside of the handbag. This is not the same as wrapping the handbag's
parts in plastic.
