This Gucci guide will focus on the details (that
may) be available for scrutiny on higher quality fake clothing
items. The better the fake, the more likely the counterfeiters produced the fundamental
details associated with the item correctly,
and therefore there may be nearly zero (or simply zero) error details on the item that would
allow you to easily reject it. More likely, the problems on a higher quality fake
item will come in the form of subtle quality issues. We fill focus below on a single specific
quality issue, one that can generally be identified in retail images: the stitch lines.

When the two images are side by side, in pictures that you would find shopping online,
(quality, size etc), it is clear that by these images alone it would be difficult to
confidently determine authenticity, or at the very least, rule out authenticity.
However, there are some clues.
I. Image [I] looks likes like the fit is slightly slimmer than the shirt in image II. High end designers will fit and feel different. It is well understood that European sizes run smaller than in the US, but beyond that, the fit is also quite different. And here you can see that the authentic Gucci is tailored with a slimmer shoulder width, (as evidenced by the fit of the phony Gucci shirt over the broader shouldered mannequin (II)). II. Image [II] displays a muscular fit, and generally, (although there are exceptions), Gucci for the most part does not utilize overly muscular mannequins in their retail presentations. Below is a closer look at the competing shirts:
A: This image is a close up of the shirt cuff done to highlight and compare the
stitching quality between the two shirts. In this case we can see that the stitch line is
barely visible. It is skillfully blended into the shirt, using the checker pattern to
camouflage most of the stitch line. This is common of Gucci and other high end designer clothing.
There should not be signs of sloppy stitching, especially on the exterior of the item and
in highly visible areas.
B: In image [B], the close up of the fake Gucci cuff, we can see the stitch lines much clearer. This does not mean that a visible stitch line equals fake, or that Gucci will not have clothing items that will have visible stitch lines on their shirt cuffs, this comparison is to simply demonstrate the quality differences. And most often, these discrepancies will manifest in the stitch lines. Especially when dealing with good fake items. As we mentioned earlier, the better the fake, the more likely they will have the majority of the details correct. However, even the better counterfeiters will leave signatures within the item's quality details. In this case (apart from the fitting issue), these signatures are found in the visible stitch line on the cuff. Stitch line points (B): Notice that the stitch line clumps up in places, (as the topmost yellow arrow indicates), the stitch line seems to have erratic size stitches, (some large, some so small you can barely see them), and the stitch line has trouble remaining parallel to the edge of the garment. Image of authentic Gucci cuff with visible stitch line:
C: This image illustrates a Gucci shirt with a visible stitch line on the
cuff. However, note the quality difference. The authentic stitch line is neat, uniform and
runs parallel to the edge of the cuff.
