For BEBE SPORT see our tutorial sections (above) for links to the SPORT line. Below is a real vs. fake bebe clothing label: ![]() ![]() A): Image (A) pictured above is of an authentic bebe white clothing label. Points 1+2+3 are broken down in this manner: A1): Point 1 concerns the bebe font. Notice that both b's and both e's are not perfect circles. They have more of an egg shape to them. If it is hard to compare font shapes, the best way to avoid any type of optical illusion is to focus on the center of the b and the white shape within the b, (the shape that the letter b frames). By doing this you can clearly see that the white shape is in the shape of an egg. This is important when comparing the bebe font in this image to that in image (B) [further below @ (B1)]. A2): Point 2 between the yellow lines is there to help illustrate how the lower square label tag (Made in China, M) is centered within the horizontal white main bebe label. A3): Point 3 is the adjacent area to point 2. This area should be the same width as area 2 if the square lower label tag is correctly centered within the white label, (as we see in this real bebe label). B): Image (B) is of a fake bebe label on a phony bebe trench coat. Here we will compare the 3 point breakdown with the 3 points in image (A): B1): The focus of point b1 is the bebe font. Here we can clearly see that the font is slightly different than the font in image (A1). Focusing again on the center of the letter b, (the colored shape that the b frames), we can see that this black shape is more circular than the b shape in image (A1). The authentic bebe font is not circular and bubbly, it is more oval and sleek than the font in this image. Therefore, beware of bebe fonts that are too overly circular. Check both bebe b's especially. B2:) Point 2 deals with the square bebe lower label. Here you can see (when compared to image [A]), that the width of point 2 image (B) is much more narrow than point 2 image (A). It is therefore pretty obvious that the square lower label is not centered within the upper horizontal bebe clothing label. B3): Point 3 further illustrates the asymmetric spacing of the lower square label. Here you can see that this space (3) is much wider than space (2). Bebe label reverse side: ![]() ![]() C): Image (C) shows that the bebe label should only be stitched along the top of the label. Therefore you should be able to flip it up and look at the backside. Here we see the backside of the label, and the far left alpha-numeric sequence, as well as the alpha-numeric sequence on the backside of the lower square label flap. ![]() ![]() D): Image (D) illustrates a major error detail with this label. The label simply has no backside. This is an automatic fail. This is a simple test that can be done (when you have the item in person) in a few seconds. Simply lift up on the label and check for a backside. Note: The clue that this label did not have a backside available for viewing was given away in image (B) from the section above. If you look at the label in image (B) you will notice that it has stitches framing the entire label. But the label in image (A) does not. This indicates that the black label is completely fastened on all sides to the trench coat and it will be impossible to view the reverse side. To re-cap some important tips:
Bebe extra button bag: ![]() ![]() E): Image (E) displays the extra button bag that comes with bebe clothing. Here you can clearly see that the logo is printed on the bag. ![]() F): Image (F) is the extra button bag that was on the fake bebe trench coat. Here you can clearly see that there is no bebe logo on the bag. The bag is also a different size, and if you feel the composition of this bag in person, unlike the authentic bebe bag, it has the feel of a Ziploc grocery type bag. This is much different from the sleek feel of the authentic bebe plastic bag. F1): Point 1 illustrates that thicker edges are visible on the fake plastic bag. This is represented by by the thick white line at the edge of the bag (point 1). This indicates that the plastic bag is thicker than the authentic bebe bag, and more analogous to an industrial style plastic bag to store food items etc, rather than a bag made as an attachment to designer clothing. This is important because if the counterfeiter decides to print a bebe logo on the bag to throw you off, you can still do a quality check by looking at the bag's edge. Identifying a thicker edge (as in image [F1]) should indicate an industrial type plastic bag rather than a designer clothing attachment. This should raise an automatic red flag. ebay
