And there is a noticeable difference between lower quality leather and high quality Hermes leather colors, and that difference is generally identified within the crease pattern of the texture. Genuine quality calf will have a crease pattern that is highly detailed and consistent with natural hide that will feel soft on contact and have a distinct smell. This increased amount of creases tells us that this leather will be softer as there are more comprised areas of resistance.
